The event ties in with the recently completed temporary exhibition "The Underground World of Tarnowskie Góry. The map from which much began...". A conversation around old maps and giving them new life will take place with history and nature enthusiasts. Our guests will be Czesław Tyrol and Czesław Bambynek, and the meeting will be hosted by Dr Piotr Śmieja.
Czesław Tyrol - an outstanding forester, naturalist, publicist and one of the most respected popularisers of the history and nature of our region. For more than half a century he has been professionally involved with the Koszęcin Forestry Commission. He is the originator and initiator of the creation of the "Góra Grójec" nature reserve, to which the route of the Forest Raid also leads. Czesław Tyrol was also involved in designing the route of the Leśna Rajza.
Czesław Bambynek - resident of Koszęcin, passionate about travelling and discovering local historical mysteries. A cycling enthusiast with a particular fondness for traversing wild woodlands. On a daily basis, he combines his passions for technology and art - he is the designer of the Leśno Rajza Navi application, music producer and organiser of the social initiative and brand Silesia Crime.
The Leśno Rajza Navi GPS application is the key to the iconic Leśno Rajza (LR) route and thousands of hectares of freedom in the forests of Tarnogórskie and Lubliniec, but it is also a time portal. With a single click, we can travel to a map from 1893 and discover a world hidden under a layer of moss. In the depths of the forest, range is sometimes a memory, which is why the Forest Paradise Navi works completely offline. Your GPS position is always visible. And the map takes into account strategic points, such as: Cyclist Service Places (MOR), lookout towers, it also includes a "Forest Dictionary", i.e. the names of charms and paths. The Leśno Rajza Navi GPS also provides for "Track Recording", so that your trip will be permanently stored in the app's memory. Old trails, forgotten borders and history come alive before our eyes!
The Leśno Rajza - or "long ride in the forest" - is a cycling route in the districts of Tarnogórski and Lubliniec, constituting a loop of approximately 115 km with a conventional start and finish at Lake Chechlo-Nakło. The route was created on the basis of a partnership agreement between 6 communes: Kalety, Świerklaniec, Koszęcin, Woźniki, Tworóg and Miasteczko Śląskie. The cycling route runs mainly through the forest areas of the Świerklaniec, Koszęcin and Brynek Forest Districts. It is one of the most popular cycling routes in the Silesian Voivodeship. It leads through the picturesque Lubliniec forests, which are called the green lungs of Silesia - full of good paths and interesting places. The trail is loved by cyclists who like peace and quiet, lots of greenery and riding in the countryside.
