‘The Lead Professor’ is a fictionalised biography of Professor Bożena Hager-Małecka, who was the first to diagnose lead poisoning in children from Szopienice and brought about systemic changes that helped to eradicate the disease. The book recounts the life story of the doctor and social activist known from the TV series *The Lead Children*.

Magdalena Kędzierska-Zaporowska – a graduate in editing from the Jagiellonian University, a freelance editor working with Poland’s leading publishing houses, currently at Emocje Plus Minus; author of over a dozen publications for adults and children. Originally from Tarnowskie Góry, she now lives in Kraków.
