On Thursday 28 May, reconstruction of the intersection of Gliwicka and Witosa Streets and Długa Street will begin. By the end of September, the road and its immediate surroundings will have been rebuilt, and traffic lights will have been installed. The works will cause traffic difficulties on the Tarnowskie Góry-Gliwice route and small changes in the location of bus stops.

The investment carried out by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Katowice includes:
- extension of the intersection of state road no. 78 (ul. Gliwicka) with ul. Witosa and ul. Długa by changing the geometry of the intersection (e.g. construction of an additional left turn lane for the exit onto Witosa from Gliwice)
- correction of the geometry of the bus stop bay and the radii of road edge curves
- reconstruction of the existing bus stop bay (direction Gliwice)
- construction and reconstruction of pedestrian routes
- reconstruction of the existing exits to properties
- reconstruction of road shoulders
- construction of drainage system
- partial removal of roadside ditches and cleaning of sections of existing ditches,
- relocation of the existing roadside cross
and construction of traffic lights and pedestrian crossing illumination

According to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Katowice, the works are due to start on Thursday 28 May and will last until the end of September. During this time, staged obstructions are to be expected at the site in the form of the exclusion of one of the carriageway lanes and the introduction of shuttle vehicle traffic as a result.

Intersection reconstruction project:

The Metropolitan Transport Authority in Katowice informs that in connection with the reconstruction of the
intersection, the following changes in bus stop organisation will be introduced as of 28 May:

- Positions 01 and 02 of the "Repty Śląskie Witosa" stop will be moved to the area of the Meat Plant.

Temporary timetables for lines 289 and 749 will be introduced, where:
- on lines from Tarnowskie Góry line 289 will be redirected to the diversions route going along the DK78, Waliski streets, which will result in excluding the "Repty Śląskie Witosa" stop from service, while the "Repty Śląskie Waliski" stop will be included. Silesian Repty Jaworowa" stop will be
start/end stop,
- on the 19:18 route from Tarnowskie Góry only, the line 749 will be redirected to the diversions route going along the DK78 and Waliski streets, which will result in cancelling the service at the "Repty Śląskie Witosa" stop, while the "Repty Śląskie Waliski" stop will be activated. The "Repty Śląskie Jaworowa" stop will be the start/end one,
- on routes to Tarnowskie Góry line 289 will run from Niemcewicza street DK 78, which means that the stops "Repty Śląskie Boisko", "Repty Śląskie Rezerwat Segiet", "Repty Śląskie Piekarnia" and "Repty Śląskie Skowronków" position 1 will be excluded from service, while the following will be added to the service
stand 2 of the stop "Repty Śląskie Skowronków".
