This exhibition forms part of a long-term project showcasing artistic works produced by students on the Graphic Design course at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa. The concept was conceived by Prof. Katarzyna Winczek. This series of exhibitions, which has an international reach, has been running since 2019 and promotes visual art that presents artists’ own interpretations of the world. Alongside traditional forms of graphic art, the exhibition features works created using digital, photographic, painterly and drawing media. Our common thread is the desire to share with the public the reflections, sensations and experiences arising from working in the field of graphic art, which has at its core the need to convey information.

The aim of the project is to showcase the artists’ work in towns and cities served by the railway line from Częstochowa – including Katowice, Kraków, Cieszyn, Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), Prague and Ostrava (Czech Republic). The shared space of the printmaking studios, housed in a century-old building at 14 Dąbrowskiego Street in Częstochowa, conveys a message across generations about the search for and definition of one’s own, individualised artistic expression. This gives rise to a natural need to establish a presence in other academic and artistic centres. The concept of cyclical ‘pop-up’ exhibitions has a significant impact on the perception of contemporary printmaking as a living, mobile art form that is open to dialogue with the viewer.
