On the first weekend of October, the ‘Seniors’ Cultural Weekend’ will take place across Poland – an initiative launched by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, whose primary aim is to combat social exclusion by encouraging older people to participate regularly in cultural life in the broadest sense. This is a special initiative which, for many years, has enabled older people from across the country to take part in a wide range of worthwhile events.

To mark the occasion, throughout the weekend (on Saturday from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm, on Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00) we invite all senior citizens to visit the Museum free of charge and explore our permanent exhibitions: ‘The Renaissance Hall with a Gallery of Western European Painting’, ‘From the History of Tarnowskie Góry’ and ‘Long Live Jan III Sobieski’, as well as the temporary exhibition ‘Where the Town Meets: A Story of Tarnowskie Góry’s Market Square’.

We also invite you to a free tour of the Dworzec Kultury in Tarnowskie Góry (1c Częstochowska Street, on Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 to 17.00).
