Printmaking is the art of the mark. Every print holds a memory within it. The print is the result of many factors: gesture, pressure and time. Perhaps this is why it is such a good medium for telling the story of our town – a place which is itself a record of successive layers of stories, transformations and human presence. The TG500/Ag exhibition undertakes precisely this endeavour: to interpret Tarnowskie Góry through the traces left behind by the past, and through the significance these traces hold today.

During the closing event, the exhibition’s curator and the project’s artistic supervisor – Anna Osadnik Osa – will talk about the project, the artists and their works, as well as how graphic art can serve as a tool for telling the story of a place, its history and identity.
