The Palace in Rybna, filled with love

16.06.2026 r.

Tuesday morning (16 June) at the Palace in Rybna was filled with emotion, smiles and fond memories. Thirteen couples from Tarnowskie Góry celebrated their long-standing marriages.

The guests were presented with medals awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland, commemorative certificates, a symbolic glass of champagne and a mini-concert. The Mayor of the town, Arkadiusz Czech, also offered his congratulations to the couples.

“I congratulate you on your mutual patience and understanding. I wish you good health. I think you set an example for your families,” said the mayor.

The secret to a long marriage?

When asked this question, Jadwiga and Ryszard Kłosiński, who were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary, replied without hesitation: “There’s no single way. You simply have to love one another; then you’ll get through anything!

The couple, who have always been connected to Tarnowskie Góry, met on Krakowska Street. They spent their first date at the Black Trout Club (located in the former Europa cinema). Over more than 60 years of married life, they have been blessed with two children and four wonderful grandchildren.
