The Summer Song Festival is kicking off

17.06.2026 r.

Tarnowskie Góry is adding another event to its 500th-anniversary celebrations, this time showcasing local talent. This Saturday, 4 July, the First Summer Song Festival will take place in the Opatowice district. The organisers aim to demonstrate that the town is not only about its historical heritage and UNESCO-listed monuments, but above all about its talented residents.

The event will begin at 10.00 am on the open-air stage of the Tarnowskie Góry Cultural Centre in Opatowice, at 9 Jana Pastuszki Street. This initiative sets itself apart from traditional, high-pressure music competitions – there is no jury here, nor any competitive pressure. The festival is intended to be a joyful gathering and a musical gift from the people of Tarnowskie Góry to the people of Tarnowskie Góry. Ten young performers from the region, including both soloists and bands, will take to the stage, each presenting three songs of their own choosing to the audience. As announced, every artist taking part in the event will receive an award.

The organisers are prepared for any sudden change in the weather. If the weather conditions do not allow for outdoor festivities, the entire event will be seamlessly moved to the TCK auditorium, ensuring that the summer fun continues regardless of the weather.

Artists are still being recruited for this anniversary event. Young musicians can express their interest in performing by emailing: muzyka@tck.net.pl. Both participation in the festival and admission for the public are completely free of charge.
