On 20 June 2026, a patriotic and sporting event will take place in Tarnowskie Góry. Under the slogan “Three laps for the Third Silesian Uprising”, residents will combine physical activity with a tribute to the heroes. The programme includes ceremonies at the monument and a symbolic run in the Town Park.

The event aims to commemorate important chapters in the region’s history in a way that engages the whole community. The celebrations have been divided into two complementary parts: an official part and a sporting part.

 This year’s celebrations will begin at 11:00 am in the square at the junction of Strzelecka and Odrodzenia streets in Tarnowskie Góry. The official part will feature commemorative speeches and a ceremonial laying of wreaths at the memorial site. The musical accompaniment for this solemn moment will be provided by the local band Miedarzanie, who will perform a mini-concert of uprising songs prepared especially for the occasion.

Three laps for history At 13:00, the celebrations will move to the Town Park, where the sporting part of the event will begin. Runners will have to complete three laps along the park’s paths. This number is strictly symbolic and refers to the three Silesian independence uprisings. The aim of the run is not to compete for the best time, but to actively commemorate the Insurgents together.

Registration and place limit Participation in the sporting part of the event is completely free of charge. However, for organisational reasons, advance online registration is required. The number of places for the run is strictly limited to 105 participants, so places on the start list will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Any cyclist who covers a distance of at least 105 km over the weekend of 19–21 June has the chance to win a unique anniversary medal!

To claim your prize, simply visit the City Office for Culture, Promotion and Tourism (Rynek 4) and show proof on your phone or bike computer that you have covered the required distance.
