Today’s celebration turned out to be a double celebration for Mrs Teresa Woźnica, whose birthday falls on this very day.

“That’s why we’ll only be staying for a moment, as I’m still entertaining guests myself today,” laughed Mrs Teresa, who is celebrating her golden wedding anniversary in September.

Mr and Mrs Eugenia and Franciszek Wiegand, on the other hand, weren’t keeping track of time today. Mr Franek has been known for years as the most famous watchmaker in Tarnowskie Góry. Did time pass more quickly or more slowly for him and his wife because of this?

– My personal clock works like this: every two years counts as one year for me. Thanks to that, I’m only 43! – joked Mr Franciszek.

 “And I’m even younger! I feel as if I were 23!” added Mrs Eugenia.
