Applications for the 2027 Tarnowskie Góry Mayor’s Sports Scholarship, based on sporting achievements in 2026, together with any supporting documents, must be submitted by 15 October.

In particularly justified cases, an application may be submitted after this deadline, but no later than before the first meeting of the Committee, which is due to take place by 30 January 2026.

A sports scholarship may be awarded to an athlete who meets all of the following conditions:

• is a resident of the town of Tarnowskie Góry,
• holds a valid licence or other document entitling them to take part in sporting competitions,
• practises sport on a basis other than an employment contract or a civil-law contract,
• practises sports such as: acrobatics, badminton, baseball and softball, biathlon, billiards, boxing, bowling, bridge, curling, gymnastics, golf, ice hockey, field hockey, equestrian sports, judo, jiu-jitsu, canoeing, karate, Fudokan karate, traditional karate, kendo, kickboxing, cycling, korfball, basketball, skittles, bodybuilding, fitness and powerlifting, athletics, archery, figure skating, speed skating, Muay Thai, model aircraft flying, skiing, orienteering, modern pentathlon, football, handball, volleyball, recreational scuba diving, weightlifting, radio orienteering, ringo, rugby, skibob, snooker and English billiards, snowboarding, speed cycling, air sports, motor sports, powerboat sports and water skiing, swimming, dog sledding, dance sport, mountain sports, luge, sport shooting, sumo, chess, fencing, ITF taekwondo, WTF taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, triathlon, floorball, draughts, western riding and rodeo, angling, rowing, roller skating, wushu, wrestling and sailing.
• in the year the scholarship is awarded or in the previous year*, achieved:

1. in individual disciplines in the senior or junior age categories, at least one of the following sporting achievements:
   • Olympic Games – took part,
   • Universiade – placed 1st–8th,
   • World Championships – took part,
   • World Cup – placed 1st–8th,
   • European Championships – placed 1st–8th,
   • European Cup – finished 1st–8th,
   • Olympic Hopes Tournament – finished 1st–8th,
   • World University Championships – finished 1st–8th,
   • Polish Championships – came 1st–3rd,
   • Polish Cup – finished 1st–3rd,
   • Polish University Championships – came first,
   • National Youth Games – came 1st–3rd,
     1. in team disciplines in the senior or youth categories, at least one of the following results:
   • qualification for the first team representing a sports club in official league competitions organised by Polish sports associations (at the top-flight, first or second division level),
   • selection for the Polish national team,
     • has not been subject to any disciplinary sanction provided for in the statutes of the relevant sports association or by the authorities of the sports club of which they are a member.
