Tarnowskie Góry Town Council and the Bolesław Lubosz Municipal Public Library in Tarnowskie Góry warmly invite all residents to take part in the next edition of National Reading – on 5 September at 10.00. (the Library garden, entrance from Nowaka Street).

The programme includes:

1. A reading of an excerpt from *Dziady, Part III*. The readers will include representatives of the Town Council and cultural institutions in Tarnowskie Góry.
2. A performance of “Dziady, Part I” by the amateur theatre group Korek, based at Nursery School No. 26 in Tarnowskie Góry and directed by Bożena Leksa.
3. A reading of an excerpt from “Dziady, Part II” by pupils from the ZSTiO “Mechanik” technical college in Tarnowskie Góry, directed by Aleksandra Binek.
4. ‘A Little Bit of Happiness in Love’ – a nostalgic concert performed by Adrianna Bujak-Cyran (vocals) and Krzysztof Cyran (guitar).

Rules and regulations for organising events

The presidential couple sent a commemorative letter encouraging everyone to read the work together.

It is a national mystery play in which the past is linked to the future, and traditional rites create a space for our national debates. It is precisely in *Dziady* that the connection with ancient history is woven into the fabric of Poland’s history and serves as a reminder of the values that shape the nation. ‘We are all part of it’ – we say with pride of Mickiewicz, who, in his brilliant drama, unites past and future generations into a single community of spirit. *Dziady* is an outstanding work of national identity, understandable to every Pole.”
