The races will, as usual, take place on Miners’ Friday in the Town Park. The competition will be held in four primary school categories: birth years 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012, with separate categories for girls and boys.

“22nd Tarnogórski Sedlaczka Run”

Date: 11 September 2026 (Friday)

Event office: Primary School No. 15 (until the Thursday before the event), near the open-air stage (on the day of the event), SZS Municipal Board, Primary School No. 3 (signposting and marking out the route, other organisational matters).

Venue: Municipal Park, Kard. S. Wyszyńskiego Street (tarmac paths).

Participation: Only competitors (teams) registered by schools from the Tarnowskie Góry District will be permitted to take part, and only if accompanied by a supervisor (form tutor). Competitors without a supervisor will not be permitted to take part!

Race numbers will be issued 45 minutes before each race at the race office.

Programme:

10 ⁰⁰   – distribution of race numbers;

10 ¹⁵  – opening of the competition;

10 ²⁰ -13 ⁰⁰   – running events and prize-giving;

Prizes will be awarded as and when events take place.

Events:

• an inclusive run over a distance of approx. 400 m (teams of girls and boys with a disability certificate, born in 2012 or earlier – start at approx. 10.20;
• an approx. 800 m race (teams of girls and boys, each comprising a maximum of four primary school pupils born in 2015 or earlier) – start: approx. 10.30 am (girls) and approx. 10.40 am (boys);
• an 800-metre race (girls’ and boys’ teams, each comprising a maximum of 4 primary school pupils born in 2014 – start: approx. 11.00 (girls) and approx. 11.10 (boys);
• a race over a distance of approximately 1,000 metres (girls’ and boys’ teams, each comprising a maximum of four primary school pupils born in 2013 – start: approx. 11.30 am (girls) and approx. 11.40 am (boys);
• a race over a distance of approx. 1,000 m (girls’ and boys’ teams, each comprising a maximum of 4 primary school pupils born in 2012 – start: approx. 12.00 (girls) and approx. 12.10 (boys);

• a race over a distance of approx. 1,000 m (girls’ teams) and approx. 1,800 m (boys’ teams), comprising a maximum of 6 pupils each from Years 1–4 of secondary schools and technical colleges, born in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 and younger) – start: approx. 12.30 (girls) and approx. 12.40 (boys).
• Nordic Walking walk over a distance of approx. 1,000 m – for students – members of the University of the Third Age Association – start approx. 1.00 pm

Prizes:

Participants in the races and their carers will receive commemorative T-shirts.

In each event, the following prizes are awarded to competitors entered by schools and institutions:

– prizes for coming 1st–5th individually in the girls’ and boys’ categories;

– certificates and medals for 1st–3rd places individually in the girls’ and boys’ categories;

– trophies and medals for teams finishing in 1st–3rd place in the girls’ and boys’ categories [a team’s higher position is determined by the lowest total of places (points) achieved by its three best competitors. In the event of a tie in points between two or more teams, the higher position is determined by the higher placing achieved by the team’s best competitor (second, and so on).

The presentation of individual and team prizes will take place on the day of the competition.

Please note: the provisions regarding prizes in kind do not apply to the Nordic Walking event.

Final provisions: 

– sports footwear and clothing are required,

– medical care and refreshments will be provided,

– every participant in the race must have accident insurance;
