Another edition of the ART.ERIA.TG event is now behind us – it has become a permanent fixture in Gwarków’s calendar. This year, our group walk broke a real attendance record – over 100 people joined us on the route!

– “This year’s Gwarki festival is running for longer as we’re celebrating the town’s 500th anniversary, which is why we’re all the more delighted by such a fantastic turnout!” – With these words, Piotr Korab, Head of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Promotion, officially opened today’s event. He inaugurated the cultural walk together with Anna Gołkowska, Director of the Tarnowskie Góry Cultural Centre, and Mateusz Jankowski, Director of the Arts and Design School Complex.

We began our walk at the Arts and Design School Complex, where we were greeted by sculptures in the courtyard, before moving on to the Wooden Stork for an exhibition of photographs by Kamila Dworaczek. And so, taking a cultural stroll through the town, we reached the K7 Gallery on Krakowska Street for the ‘SPOJRZENIA – TG500/AG’ exhibition. From there, we headed towards the Dworzec Kultury, where another instalment of the ‘TG500/AG’ exhibition awaited us.It was organised by graphic art enthusiasts from Tarnowskie Góry to mark this year’s anniversary, and its title ingeniously combines the abbreviation of our town’s name with the chemical symbol for silver (Ag). All the works on display were created using the traditional linocut technique. The following artists presented their works: Kamila Dworaczek, Sylwia Giza, Szymon Gryncewicz, Magda Jon, Magdalena Michura-Rensz, Patrik Pasku, Wojciech Tytus Piegza, Franciszek Podleśny, Justyna Równicka, Małgorzata Skrabaczewska, Beata Smyła, Agata Swoboda and Kinga Śliwińska.

After our visit to Dworzec Kultury, we moved round to the back of the Tarnowskie Góry Cultural Centre to immerse ourselves in modernity and view the visual projects as part of the ‘Cyfrowe Tętno’ exhibition. The real icing on the cake, however, was the grand finale – the exhibition of this year’s miners’ poster. We were able to admire a total of 41 entries submitted to this year’s competition, and the winning design was presented to the audience by its creator, Magda Ćwieląg-Pawliczek.
